“Oban is the gateway to a world class sea kayaking environment. It’s why Gill and I choose to live and paddle year round, winter as well as summer, in the area. Day to day access to such a diverse sea kayaking playpen is a blessing; the opportunity to introduce sea kayaking enthusiasts to our playpen is a privilege as well as a pleasure.”

“We are afforded the luxury of coaching and guiding small groups because we are a small business. Our over-heads are low which allows us to maintain a small group paddling ethos. Our clients tend to find our routines and delivery more relaxed and flexible because of this. We don’t ask for deposits, we’re happy to take time out to chat and reply to emails; we even offer free, accompanied demos and test paddles in partnership with Kari-Tek.”

Explore by Sea Kayak

There is an immense sense of freedom and wellbeing from journeying through the water in a fast, sleek sea kayak, propelled by your own paddle strokes. The coastline opens up before you – rocky outcrops, sandy beaches, sheer cliffs, sea caves. I still gain immense pleasure in looking back to see a curious seal following my kayak, a cormorant drying his wings on a rock or admiring a headland covered in the deepest pink sea thrift.

An Ideal New Pastime

Sea kayaking is growing in popularity and it’s easy to see why. It's an ideal leisure pursuit for people who love the outdoors and are looking for a new, low impact sport.

Qualified Sea Kayak Guides

Safety and enjoyment are our paramount concerns. We are British Canoe Union qualified coaches living just outside Oban. We work with small groups of no more than four paddlers from beginner through to intermediate and advanced level sea kayakers. We are also active canoe club coaches helping to develop the confidence and skills of local paddlers.

Local Knowledge

We live and paddle: spring, summer, autumn and winter out from Oban. As local paddlers, we know the coastline, the effects of wind and tide, where to land for a scenic break ... and where all the best pubs and cafes are!

”Sitting in a sea kayak you move subtly from observing a unique environment to becoming a part of that unique environment. You stop being a tourist; quite often you find you have become a tourist attraction.

As a couple or part of a small group you will have the opportunity to more intimately share your paddling experience within like-minded company; allowing that little bit of extra time to enjoy the setting sun, the wild life or even a lunch time beer or coffee. It’s all about where your aspirations take you.“
